Alan Kiyomori Arakaki's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alan Kiyomori Arakaki on February 21, 2025 at the age of 64. He was born on December 20, 1960, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Kiyomori and Hatsue Arakaki, and was raised in Pearl City, graduating from Pearl City High School in 1978. Alan worked in refrigeration for over 30 years at Oahu Sales before retiring in 2014. He was a respected member of the Plumbers - Fitters UA Local 675, and taught refrigeration classes at Honolulu Community College. Alan met his wife, Debra, in 2009, and they married on February 14, 2022, and relocated to her hometown in Hilo later that year.
Alan was known for being a hardworking and responsible employee and union member as well as being especially generous, creative, and mischievous to his loved ones. His favorite hobbies were golfing and tending to his many bonsai plants. He was a fan of Mighty Mouse and Disney, and he enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Disneyland for vacations. He is survived by wife Debra "Debi" Arakaki, step-daughters Heather Clarke and Stephanie Letro and her husband Nathaniel "Nate", grandchildren Liliana "Lily", Isaiah, Saraiah, and Elijah "Kaikea" Letro, family rescue dog Ripley, brother Alton Arakaki and his wife Lisa, sisters Joy Arakaki and Jayne Arasaki and her husband Rick, nephew Cory Miyasato and wife Ariel "Ari", and niece Rachel Arasaki. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
Alan's Celebration of Life is currently being planned and will be held at a later date to be announced.
