Annelle Kahalehau Lee's Obituary
Annelle Kahalehau Lee, 82, of Honokaà, HI. died at Honokaà Hospital on Friday, April 18, 2025. She was born in Hilo, HI on December 18, 1942 to Clement K. Lee and and Lydia (Choy Hee) Lee.
Annelle grew up in Wailuku, Maui and was very active in her church as a youth. She graduated in 1960 from Baldwin High School on Maui and continued to receive a degree in nursing at Seattle University. Annelle then joined the Navy, which included one year on the hospital ship the USS Repose in Vietnam. She retired as a Navy Captain, Nurse Practitioner OB/GYN after 27 years of service.
For the past 31 years, she and her longtime partner, Jory Watland, wereowners/managers of the Honokaà Club Hotel in Honokaà,HI.
Annelle cared for people with fun times, parties, and friendships at the hotel. Her concern for the less fortunate, also allowed her to give them rooms, meals, and fellowship. She loved to participate in local parades, community projects, and the United Methodist Church of Honokaà.
She is survived by her beloved partner, Jory Watland of Honokaà; her caring brother, Hollis (Julie) Lee; her sister, Onea McPherson of Rochester,MN; several nephews, nieces, cousins, her partner's son, Robert (Jen) Watland and his children.
