Annie Pasa's Obituary
Annie “Girl” (Kauwe) Pasa, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was granted her wings on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii to John and Annie (Kauhane) Kauwe. She was 76 years young and so full of love, life, and happiness.
Annie shared 59 years of marriage with her sweetheart, Alan Pasa Sr. Together they raised their six children: Curtis (Mika Koyama) Pasa, Tina (Abel) Van Meter, Alan (Jen) Pasa Jr., Ha’aleikawaiakamanu Pasa, Jason (Lisa) Pasa, Sing (Lewin) Chartrand; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and precious little dog, Pikachu.
She earned her degree in Secretarial Science from the University Of Hawaii at Hilo and went on to hold many positions with companies such as KTA, Hilo Quality Cleaners, and Office Of Aging. She discovered her passion in working as a phlebotomist for Diagnostic Laboratory Services of Hilo for many years before retiring.
More than anything, Annie loved spending time with her family. Whether hosting or attending, she never shied away from celebrations and gatherings and was a proud member of the “Puhi Bay Gang”. She kept her hands and mind busy with many interests, including: sewing, lei making, crafts, and cooking. She could often be found bargain hunting at garage sales, craft fairs, and stores – always finding the best deals and treasures. Annie also loved traveling to the “Ninth Island” (Las Vegas) where she enjoyed gambling, shopping, and dining until the sun came up to greet us on a new day.
Annie’s family fondly remembers her as the best “Gramma Girl” anyone could ask for. She had the brightest smile, warmest laugh, and never-ending positivity that was felt by everyone around her. She is truly loved and missed by all who knew her.
