Arthur Akau, Sr.'s Obituary
Arthur “Ace” Akau, Sr., 62, of Kamuela, HI, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honokaa, HI on Sept. 28, 1951. He was a Trucking Foreman for Parker Ranch, a groundskeeper for Oye Construction, and a member of Hawaii’s Kahiko Omole Hui. A visitation will take place on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 10 to11 am at Imiola Church in Kamuela, HI; a memorial service will take place at 11 am. Scattering of ashes will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 9 am at Mahukona. Family requests aloha attire and no flowers. He is survived by 5 sons, Arthur (Claire) Akau, Jr of Hilo, HI, Jason (Kristen) Akau of Kawaihae, HI, Theodore (Shantelle) Akau of Kamuela, HI, Cody Oshiro of Pahoa, HI, and Brian (Jackie) Carvalho of Kohala, HI; daughter, Krista (Nickson Welson) Akau of Kamuela, HI; 2 brothers, Arnold (Tracey) Akau, Sr. of Kamuela, Hi and Arden Akau of Kamuela, HI; sister, Theodora (Norman) Gaspar of Ahualoa, HI; son-in-law, Aginer Oscar of Honolulu, HI; 23 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
