Audrey Barbadillo Saplan's Obituary
Audrey Barbadillo Saplan, 67, of Hilo made her journey to Heaven on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama. She was born on June 13, 1955, in Ka’u.
Audrey is survived by son, Ryder (Lynn) Yoshida of Ewa Beach, Oahu; daughter, Drina (Keith) Fukunaga of Keaau, Hawaii; grandsons Dayton Fukunaga of Keaau, Hawaii; Noel Yoshida, Rysen Yoshida, and Niko Yoshida, all of Ewa Beach, Oahu, and Samuel Fukunaga of Keaau, Hawaii; granddaughters Tianni Yoshida-Fukunaga and Keithana Fukunaga both of Keaau, Hawaii; great granddaughter Paisley Fukunaga of Keaau; mother Christine Saplan; brother John (Marilyn)Saplan; sisters Yolana (Jose) Gutierrez, Sandra (Jim) Pedersen, Deidre (Wendell) Sumic, and Joan (Sean) McWilliams, all of Hilo, Hawaii.
She was a retired office clerk for the Child Support Enforcement Agency in Hilo. Audrey loved the ocean and would enjoy listening to the waves from her condo in Keaukaha. Some of her favorite past times included searching for sea glass, seashells, or other interesting items that washed onto the beach. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and painting.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
