Caridad "Carrie" Candolizas Leyson's Obituary
Caridad "Carrie" Candolizas Leyson, age 95, of Pepeekeo, Hawaii, passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2025. She was born in Pepeekeo, Hawaii on June 27, 1929, to Adriano and Dionicia Candolizas. She is a graduate of Hilo High School class of 1947, and Hawaii Commercial College. Worked for many years at Hawaiian Life Insurance Co., Bank of Hawaii, Mr. Papaya and Ono Pac. Was a member of Hilo FCE Club, Senior RSVP, Kamana Senior Center, and Pepeekeo Senior Nutrition Program. She enjoyed gardening and Line Dancing, and in her younger days she was an outstanding softball, volleyball and basketball player.
Private services will be held at a later date.
She is survived by sons, Harlan (Kimi) Sakuda Sr., Adrian Leyson, and Errol (Davenie) Leyson of Hilo, Kim (Carolyn) Leyson of Kona, and preceded in death by Jude Leyson Jr. of Las Vegas; daughters, Georgeanne (Jeff) Leyson-Crawford of Alabama, Karla (Bruce) Yamada of Las Vegas, Georgia Leyson of Seattle, Janice (Harold) Caravalho of Kona; sister Flora Reyes of Pepeekeo; grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
