Charles T. Maguire's Obituary
Charles T. Maguire, 76, passed away on January 2, 2024, at his home in Ka’u, HI. Beloved father, trusted mentor, an honest man with a sharp intellect, Chuck, as his friends called him, was born to John J Maguire and Katherine Maguire. He graduated from Kaimuki HS, class of 1965. Chuck attended Hartnell College before being drafted into the Vietnam War. Returning home Chuck set out to become a professional pilot. During his career he flew for Air Service F.A. OK Air, Royal Hawaiian, Continental, SPIA, finally landing at Hawaiian Airlines, where he would travel the world, retiring in 2007. During retirement he loved anything to do with his grandkids. In Ka’u he enjoyed meeting for breakfast with his friends, and continuously improving his land and home, which he had constructed from the ground up. Charles is survived by sons, Alika (Marisa) and Kale (Danielle) Maguire; grandsons Keoki, Shelby, Charles, and James; brother John; sisters-in-laws, Joan and Kai’ini; mother of his children, Irene; as well as many loved cousins, nephews and nieces. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and George; sisters Katherine Pires and Merna Kin-In.
A celebration of life will be held on March 29, 2024 with a visitation starting at 10:30 AM and a service at 11:00 AM at 46-336 Haiku Road. We invite all who knew him to come and share their favorite stories and memories of their time with him.
