Donald Calvin Vandaele's Obituary
Donald “Duva” Calvin Vandaele, 83, of Mountain View, HI, formerly of Waikiki, HI, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. He was born in Monterrey, CA on May 15, 1932. He was a retired maintenance technician for the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 12 noon to 1 pm at Homelani Memorial Park chapel. An inurment service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 2 pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl). Family requests casual attire. He is survived by spouse, Elspeth Vandaele of Mountain View, HI; 3 sons, Donald Vandaele Jr. of WA, Joey Vandaele of Moutain View, HI, and Robert Vandaele of Mountain View, HI; 2 brothers, Roger (Susan) Vandaele of Idaho and Edwin Vandaele of Maui; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
