Douglas Michael Brandenburg's Obituary
Douglas Michael Brandenburg, Age 70 of Na’alehu, HI, passed away on February 11, 2022. Doug was formerly a resident of Ohio and Colorado. He graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1969. He attended and graduated from Sinclair Community College and The Ohio State University. Doug is preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. Robert E. Brandenburg, and mother, Dorothy L. Brandenburg, both of Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by his brother, Robert Brandenburg Jr. of Troy, Ohio, and his three nieces, Dana Brandenburg, Robyn Brandenburg (James Lee), and Michelle (Joseph) Hiegel. Also surviving is his great-niece, Nevaeh and great-nephew, Tyler. Doug also leaves behind his two friends, Jack and Teddy, as well as the wonderful neighbors in his community, Discovery Harbor.
Doug was an avid hunter, especially for waterfowl. He loved being outdoors. He enjoyed watching Major League Baseball. Above all, Doug devoted much of his time caring for his two yellow labrador retrievers, Wyatt and Ike. Before retiring, Douglas worked as a respiratory therapist.
Private services will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aloha-Ilio Animal Rescue in Kona, Hawaii.
