Douglas Ceredon's Obituary
Douglas Cereden of Honokaa Died November 28, 2023, at the age of 80. Born on October 23, 1943, he leaves behind a legacy woven with courage, resilience, and a deep love for life.
Douglas wore many hats throughout his life. As an Army cook, he nourished not only bodies but also spirits. His time as a fighter in the Rhodesian Army shaped his character, instilling in him unwavering determination. Later, he donned the apron as a Denny’s cook in Las Vegas, where he whipped up comfort food for countless hungry souls. His passion for culinary delights eventually led him to become a Denny’s manager, overseeing a bustling restaurant. Douglas roamed the deserts of Arizona, a modern-day treasure hunter. In different trailer parks, he sought not gold or silver, but something more precious: crystals. With each dig, he unearthed hidden wonders, connecting with the Earth’s ancient secrets. His love for adventure knew no bounds. Feline Companionship: Amidst desert sands and starlit nights, Douglas found solace in the company of his beloved cats. Their soft purrs and independent spirits mirrored his own. He was a true cat lover, cherishing their presence as they weaved their way into his heart. Douglas's roots ran deep. His parents, Christina Nenio and Emilio Ceredon, laid the foundation for the man he became. He shared his journey with siblings who now rest in eternity: Rosalind Yoro, Rizal Ceredon, Carol Clarin, Abraham Ceredon, and Helen Cobb. Their memories dance alongside the desert winds. In the tapestry of life, Douglas’s sister, Emilia Lorenzo, remains—a beacon of strength. Nieces and nephews carry forward his spirit, weaving new threads into the family fabric.
