Elvin Kaliko Kamoku's Obituary
Elvin Kaliko Kamoku, 94, of Hilo, HI, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Kapoho, HI on August 24, 1920. He was a Fire Chief for the Hawaii County Fire Department, a Longshoreman with C. Brewer and Company, a WWII Veteran of the United States Army, First Lieutenant in the National Guard of the United States, a member of Haili Church and Kuhio Chapel. Private services to be held at a later date. Interment will take place at Hawaii Veterans Cemetary #2. He is survived by 2 sons, Elvin Kekaulike (Pamela) Kamoku of Kula, Maui and Richard (Anna) Sakai of San Jose, CA; 6 daughters, Pauline Hiwa Salazar of Kahului, Maui, Leona Lani Kamoku of Keaukaha, HI, Rhona Nohea (Albert Moran) Kamoku of Pasadena, CA, Penny Aloha Kamoku of Hilo, HI, Betty Anne Kiba of San Jose, CA, and Evelyn Sakai of San Jose, CA; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
