Erick Ronald De Ponte Sr.'s Obituary
Erick “Ricky” De Ponte Sr., 78, of Hilo died June 8, 2026, at home. Born in Hilo, he was a graduate of Hilo High School, Class of 1965, served in the U.S. Army and retired as a laborer. He is survived by son, Erick De Ponte jr. of Hilo; daughter, Yvette De Ponte (Vic Cabison) of Hilo; brother, Glenn De Ponte (Julie) of Hilo; sister, Madalyn “Maddie” Kaeo of Hilo; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Homelani Memorial Park & Crematory Chapel in Hilo. Cremation will follow.
