Estelle “Starr ⭐️” Naomi Adachi-Jose, 70, of Hakalau, Hawai’i passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Hilo Life Care Center. Born July, 1955 in Hilo Hawai’i, Estelle was the daughter of Cecilia B. Ferreira and Robert K. Adachi. She grew up in North Highlands CA but eventually came back to Hilo, Hawai’i in 1979 and stayed.
Estelle is survived by her husband Bernard “Kanak” P. Jose of Hakalau, HI. Children: Jennifer (Reid) Shelton of Virginia; Michael (Stacy) Adachi of Hakalau, HI; Alohilani Adachi-Jose of Hilo, HI; Siblings: Denise (Bill) Harmon of N. Highlands CA; Randall Brannam of CA; 11 Cherished Grandchildren;
Starr and Kanak created a lovely blended family so she’s also survived by many step-children, grands and even great grands; numerous Aunties; Uncles; Cousins; Nieces; Nephews; Her best friend Melanie Greco of CA and many other friends she made along the way.
