Eugene “Bradda Gene” Pitas Sumera, 56, of Hilo, HI, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu, HI on January 2, 1957. He was a dry wall installer for Hawaii Interiors and a fish cutter at Suisan. He was a member of the Under His Wings Ministry and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Private services. He is survived by 5 sons, Eugene Sumera, Jr. of Honolulu, HI, Josey Smith of Oregon, Kamuela Sumera of Oregon, Kekoa Sumera-Lee of Hilo, HI, and Keola Sumera-Lee of Hilo, HI; 2 daughters, Kanoe Lee of Hilo, HI and Kealakai Sumera-Lee of Hilo, HI; 3 sisters, Klarika (Richard) Hee of Alta Loma, CA, Loretta Wong of Waimanalo, HI, and Jolita Turner of Alta Loma, CA; 2 brothers, Glen (Debbie) Turner of Mountain View, HI and Cornelio (Sharon) Sumera, Jr. of Seattle, WA; 6 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
