Floyd Edgar Chapman Jr.'s Obituary
Floyd “Chappy” Edgar Chapman, Jr., 79, of Keaau, HI, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was a truck driver for Mihara Transfer, small engine mechanic for Garden Exchange, and the DJ “Night Owl” for KPUA. He was a sergeant in the special forces of the US Air Force and a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 60. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018 at the Homelani Crematory Chapel at 9 am; a memorial gathering will take place at 10 am at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #1 pavilion. Family requests casual attire. He is survived by spouse, Barbara Chapman of Ainaloa, HI; 3 daughters, Debra (Kim) Mar of Wausau, Wisconsin, Cathy (Daniel Moniz) Mathews of Mountain View, HI, and Cheryl (James) Ah Heong of Kurtistown, HI; 2 sons, Floyd (Amanda) Chapman III of Wausau, Wisconsin and Sterling Chapman of Ainaloa; brother, Floyd Carroll Chapman of FL; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
