Glenn Richard Grace Jr.'s Obituary
Glenn Richard Grace, Jr., of Hilo, died June 24, 2026. He was born in Cortez, CO on March 26,1938. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1964. After graduation, he moved to Spokane WA and began a career in Public Heath with the Spokane County Health Department. He continued his career in Public Health in Mt. Vernon and Coupeville, WA. In 1970, he moved to Olympia, WA and accepted a position with the Water Quality Program in the newly formed Department of Ecology. He remained there in various positions until 1992 when he retired. He chose to move to Hilo, HI in 1998 in order to pursue his passion for growing tropical plants. During his retirement years, his biggest passions were his gardening, wood turning and teaching both children and seniors the joy of working with computers.
He is survived by his wife, Veryl Ann Grace of Hilo; and predeceased by his father, Glenn Richard Grace, Sr., his mother, June Briggs Grace and his brother, James Grace.
