Joan Leilani Olive (Carineo), 65, of Ola’a, passed away suddenly on the 27th of October, 2021, in Hilo, Hawai’i.
Born on the 21st of May, 1956, in Waimea, Kauai, she was the daughter of Lucy Pauole and Francisco Carineo, Sibling of Yvonne Carineo, Lorraine Marius, Roseline Hosaka, Joanne Johnasen (Dale Johnasen), Lynette Carineo, Frances Carineo, Laverne Boydsten, Frank Carineo, Rick Carineo, Ed Carineo, and Jerry Carineo. Widow of Daniel Frank Olive Sr. of Ola’a.
Joan was a woman of hard work and dedication, having worked as a prep/line cook at Hiro’s Place restaurant in Hilo, Hawai’i for over 10 years.
She is survived by daughters, Danette Olive Arruda (Ian Arruda) and Danielle “Maile” Olive (Kela McDonald); sons, Daniel “Don” Olive Jr. (Shelsy Olive) and Dana Olive; and granddaughters, Chelsea Dumo, Cady Balino, and Caitlyn Arruda.
