Judith Lee Midgley Kirkendall's Obituary
Judith Lee Midgley Kirkendall, PhD, 84, of Hilo, HI, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 4, 1931. She was a Dean at the UH Hilo, managed the Peace Corps’ resources in exotic languages and was staff for volunteers teaching in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and a Big Island training officer. She founded the “International Institute” and “Language Bank”, wrote “Hawaiian Ethnogastronomy” and was awarded “Woman of the Year”.
