Kaname Sumiki, 86, of Keaau, HI died April 11, 2024 at Life Care Center of Hilo. He was a Veteran of the Army, a retired self-employed carpenter and a green thumb gardener.
A final viewing & prayer will be held at Homelani Crematory on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. The family requests casual attire and no koden.
Survived by his wife, Loretta Sumiki of Keaau; sons, Cory (Dawn) Helliangao of Oahu, Darren Helliangao of Kauai, and Darryl (Yukie) Sumiki of Hilo; daughters, Bonnie (Michael) Muragin of Keaau, Donna Ann Baker of Oahu, Teresa Helliangao-Vazquez of Hilo, and Janel (Craig) Kai of Keaau; brother, Walter (Dina) Sumiki of Keaau; sisters, Joanne Iseri of Guam and Carol (Bob) Post of Arizona; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
