Kevin Kaleimamo Medeiros' Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the untimely death of Kevin Kaleimamo Medeiros. Kevin was born on February 25, 1965 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Alberta Barrett. He excelled in playing high school basketball for Iolani School and Kalani High in the mid 1980's. He was proud to be part of a winning team while at Iolani and made life long friends there and with competing school athletes. He met and married Katherine Nanea Sai in 1995 in Honolulu and found common interest in playing softball. After living in Honolulu for some years, they moved to Kauai for nearly 20 years then finally moving to Kurtistown, Hawaii Island where he found his resting place. While on Kauai, Kevin enjoyed coaching Kauai High boy's basketball and baseball teams. He affected many lives and continued to keep in touch with those he coached up until his passing. Kevin had friendships from when he grew up in Kaimuki, going to St. Patrick's school, Iolani and Kalani High school. Kevin's passions were first and foremost keeping in touch with family and friends, he enjoyed cooking and experimenting with different foods (many of which were posted on Facebook), he loved music from many genres, and lastly he found his niche and eye for photography at which he was able to travel to different places in the world to capture the beauty for us to experience. Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Katherine; mother, Alberta Barrett and step-father, Dennis Barrett; sisters, Renee Pangilinan, Christine Minardi, Andi Kuck, Alison Hong-LoGuercio and brother, Keoni Nakamoto; Aunty Geri Menezes, father in-law, Dennis Sai; numerous nieces, nephews & many cousins and last but not least his fur babies, Murray, Otis, Anela and Li’i. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 11:00am - 4:00pm at the Puna Hongwanji in Kea`au. We miss him deeply but know that he has left us with much laughter, memories and pictures of his travels near and far. A hui hou Kevin, until we meet again!
