Lorraine Akhay's Obituary
Lorraine Costorio-Akhay, 89, of Pahala died at home. Born in Ninole and raised in Ookala, she was a graduate of Laupahoehoe High School, Class of 1955. She was a U.S. Army veteran and retired as a sales associate for Woolworth’s.
She is survived by sons, Francisco Akhay Jr. (Moana) of Wahiawa, Wayne Akhay (Fely) and Glenn Akhay (Edlin), both of Waipahu; daughters, Doreen Ballo (Stanley) of Pahala and Crystal Masulit (Edwin) of Washington; hanai children, Randy and Laura Yoro of Keaau; brother, Richard Costorio of Hilo; sister, Esther Criste of San Leandro, California; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation from 8:00am to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Pahala Holy Rosary Church; Mass at 10:00 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Burial with military honors at noon August 3rd, 2026, at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery 2 110 Laimana St Hilo Hawaii 96720.
