Marvel Hiilei Bento, 77, of Hilo, HI, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Hilo, HI. She was a retired teacher and counselor at Waiakea Elementary School, the former President of Hawa Read Obituary

Was shocked to read of Marvel's passing. She was a great upper elementary counselor at Waiakea Elementary School. Condolences to the Bento family.
I remember going to a "wellness"workshop with some faculty members, including Marvel on the island of Maui. We had a great time and enjoyed each others company.
I will always remember her warm and genuine smile.
May the happy memories you shared bring you some comfort at this time.
I am so sorry for your lost, I never met your Marvel, but losing a very dear one is hard. Be strong and know she will always be with you.

I am heartbroken to hear of Marvel's passing. The last time I spent time with her, we had lunch and she talked about all of you and how much you all meant to her. Marvel was just a wonderful person.
Arlen and Ohana, so sorry for your loss of your Wife/Mother Marvel. We will never forget the friendship over the years with our Ohana and all the help we had when we got married in 1975.Those memories will forever be with us. I HAVE TO WRITE ABOUT LOVE.
A beautiful gracious woman who had a beautiful smile. Who stood patiently by Arlenʻs side while he cracked jokes and spun tales. Everyone knew Marvel was definitely the love of Arlenʻs life. He had this look he would have just for her. No matter where he was in a room you would see Arlen make eye contact with her and then he would have this silly grin. Marvel had this big man wrapped around her little finger.
Thatʻs all I could think of writing here.....LOVE. The LOVE that Marvel and Arlen had for each other.
I witnessed this LOVE for many many years !
