Melvin Charles Ah Sing, 79, of Hilo, HI, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo, HI on March 23, 1936. He was a working foreman for the County of Hawaii, Traffic and Safety. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and various golf clubs. A visitation will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 8 am to 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church; a memorial mass will take place at 10 am. Urn burial at 12 noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2. He is survived by spouse, Audrey Ah Sing of Hilo, HI; daughter, Mary Nani (Jonathan) Spies of Kohala, HI; son, Charles Ah Sing of Hilo, HI; 2 brothers, Ray (Geraldine) Ah Sing of Wahiawa, HI and Walter (Pam) Ah Sing of CA; 3 sisters, Rosemarie (Tom) Ciaramitaro of CA, Agnes (James Carvalho) Ah Sing of CA, and Betty Lou Melanson of CA; sister-in-law, Florence Ah Sing of Hilo, HI; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
