Michael Joseph Echavez, 82, of Paauilo, passed away on October 16, 2020 at Hale Ho’ola Hamakua in Honokaa. Born in 1938 in Paauilo, he was a retired equipment operator for Hamakua Sugar Company and a security guard for Securitas.
Private services were held. Please no flowers or koden.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Echavez of Paauilo; son, Jason Michael (Becky) Echavez of Twin Falls, Idaho; step-son, Mark (Tammy) Oishi of Hilo; two step-daughters, Patricia Kamanu of Hilo and Linda (Raymond) Silva of Hilo; a brother, Thomas (Peggy) Echavez of California; two sisters, Betty Dosremedios of Honokaa and Miriam Saito of Honokaa; brother-in-law, Roy Yoshina of Hilo; sister-in-law, Charlene (Mark) Tagami of Hilo; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
