Perry Allen Miles' Obituary
Perry Allen Miles, 73, of Hilo, died April 14, 2021 at home. Born in Astoria, OR, he was a world traveler growing up all over the U.S. and in American Samoa. He had 21 different duty stations all over the world during his 22 year career in the U.S. Army including service in Vietnam (1968-1969). After retiring from the military as a Chief Warrant Officer (CW3), he spent 8 years restoring a classic 1950’s America’s Cup Yacht. He then moved to the Big Island of Hawaii and spent over 20 years creating his beautiful 5 acre garden in Kapoho, HI. He was very with Vacationland Community Association for many years. All was lost in the lava flow of 2018 and he spent his final years with good friends in Hilo.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Marinaro; three sisters, Matelita “Nive” (Terry) Atkins, Maria Walker, and Raylynn Miles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
