Richard Thomas Bell's Obituary
Richard Thomas Bell husband to the late Kathrine Marie Bell, passed Feb. 13, 2019 at the age of 81, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Jan. 23, 1938, in Bell California. Richard became active in Shakespearian drama through Chapman University. In Sonoma he was involved with the Moose Lodge, Jaycees. He occupied himself as a real-estate agent and painter/woodworker. Richard later moved to Hawai’i and soon found himself sweating for Uncle Billy at The Kona Inn. Prior to retiring to a personal business of woodworking he would be found in the Kona KTA or Food 4 Less stocking the liquor shelves and spreading his positive nature to both those he worked with and the customers he served. His love of Hawaiian culture gained the notice of Winona Beamer and many others whose mission is to keep Aloha alive. Richard’s service to the country included four years in the U.S. Navy Reserves Lighter than Air Division. His philosophy was not to wish someone a good day, rather, wish them a good life.
A celebration of life will be held at 11a.m. March. 8th Kailua-Kona at The Old A Pavilion 1 or 2 The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by his previous wife Sandra Bell of Sonoma California, daughter Gini Fortier of Boulder Colorado, son Jason Bell of Woodland California, sister Margaret Clark of Seattle Washington, niece Joyce Reichard and family Mike and Jake of Seattle Washington, brother James Palmer Bell and son Frank Joseph Bell of Banning California, nephews Tom Blanchette, Darrell Blanchette, and Bill Blanchette of Arizona, nephew Kai McKee of Vancouver Canada. For More Information Call:
