Richard Del Stevens' Obituary
Richard Del Stevens, lover of life, music, women, and the San Francisco Giants (not necessarily in that order), died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, April 7, 2022 after a brief battle with Lymphoma. He was 74.
Rich is survived by his wife, Nina, who was by his side when he died; beloved cousin, Janice; his brother, Rob and sister-in-law, Lynn; nephews, Robert, Joe, Chris (and wife Camille); and a grand-niece, Simone, age 1. He is also survived by a near-legion of former girlfriends who still love him dearly to this day.
Rich and his older brother, Rob, grew up in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. They played Little League baseball, but thoroughly enjoyed just playing catch. It became a habit that, when they traveled, they always packed a glove and ball. Over the years they played catch in such far-flung places as Costa Rica, Molokai, North Shore Oahu, and even a number of hotel rooms. Music was ever-present in the Stevens family, stemming from pro-singing father Bob Stevens. Rich played guitar and also had a fine tenor voice. Richie loved life and lived it to the hilt. His presence will be remembered fondly for years to come.
