Richard Irwin Trombla's Obituary
Richard Irwin Trombla, 89, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in Hilo, Hawaii. He was born on June 3, 1936, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Charles "Harold" and Geraldine "Jerry" Trombla. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ron Trombla, and his two oldest sons, Kirk Trombla of Hawaii and Scott Trombla of California.
In 1957, Richard married Janet Cole, and together they shared 22 years of marriage and built a beautiful family, raising four boys. He is survived by his two youngest sons, Matthew (Helen) Trombla of Oregon, and Derek (Danita) Trombla of Oregon. Richard was a proud grandfather of his three grandsons, one granddaughter, and great-grandchildren.
A man of many passions, Richard had a lifelong love for drumming and music, which filled his life with rhythm and creativity. He also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and could often be found kayaking, fishing, or simply enjoying the peace and beauty of nature.
Richard will be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the memories shared and the lives he touched.
A private family celebration of life will be held in Oregon.
