I met Bob at Liberty grade school in the 4th grade. He was always a fun friend and a rascal with his teasing and pranks and light hearted way. When my sister, Jayne died, Bob told me that she was his first girlfriend and hearing that made me smile. She was a year older and in the 7th grade then and Bob was in the 6th, the fact that they were both funny and loved to laugh was a big part of their attraction for each other. Bob and I stayed in touch during school until about age 17. He and my dear friend Dianne were a couple during that time so I saw him fairly often even though he went to a different school. He was always a good friend and I remember he loved the Rolling Stones and had a very nice stereo system that he would bring to outside summer parties where he would provide the music. Years went by and I saw him again at our 30th class reunion. Compared to the other guys, Bob looked young and fit, and I learned that he surfed often, worked outside and lived in Hawaii. It was great fun to catch up and it seemed like time stood still, he was still fun-loving and a prankster. One thing I always admired about him was that he knew his own mind and didn’t suffer fools. It was with great sadness that I heard that he had passed. It seems like he was so young, but I know he had many adventures and loved his life. He told me that he was proud of his daughter and loved his sons, and being a dad. Rest in peace my friend.
