Robert Lowell Makekau Stallard's Obituary
Robert Lowell Makekau Stallard, 68, formerly of Kailua, HI, died at his home in Pahoa, HI on December 13, 2022. The eldest son of Elva Joel Stallard and Rachel Melekahiwa Makekau Stallard, he was born on April 21, 1954 at Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu, HI. He was a professional mason, drywall finisher, painter, and auto mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and barbecuing with family and friends. He was a respected leader and mentor in his community.
He is survived by his daughters, Nicole (Zachary Stump) Stallard and Kahealani (Lopaka) Colon; sons, Randy Doss and Shane Stallard; mother, Rachel Melekahiwa Makekau Stallard; sister, Lori Baker and Tina DuVoisin; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration Of Life Potluck will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Pahoa Recreation Center. An oceanside ceremony will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Luther Makekau Point in Puna between Opihikau and MacKenzie State Park.
