Roger William Hawes' Obituary
Roger William Hawes, 77, of Volcano, HI, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Multnomah County, Oregon on June 28, 1936. He was the Proprietor of Roger’s Keaau Junction Restaurant & Bar and Hawes Brothers Auto Service. He was the manager of the Gresham Elks Club and a member of the Kilauea Golf Club. He was an umpire and Hawaii State Director for the North American Fastpitch Association and an umpire for Amateur Softball Association of America. Private services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Amateur Softball Association’s Girls Program or UHH, Girls Softball Program in Roger’s name. He is survived by 3 daughters, Barbara Rennie of Winchester, VA, Nancy Baker of Winchester, VA, and Linda (Chris) Williams of Henderson, NV; 3 brothers, Ron Hawes of Mesa, AZ, Steve (Sandy) Hawes of Salem, OR, and Stanley Hawes of Gresham, OR; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
