Solomon Tamez Jr.'s Obituary
Solomon “Sol” Tamez Jr., 66, of Keaau, died Nov. 1 at his home. Born in Gary, Indiana, he was a retired Department of Public Safety adult correctional officer, U.S. military veteran, and worked on the Big Island and Kauai.
Survived by wife Rosemarie of Keaau; daughter Monica (John) Higa; sons Andrew (Jalyn) Tamez of Texas and Daniel Tamez of Keaau; sister Maria (Hershel) Smith of Indiana; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family thanks staffs at Hilo Benioff Medical Center, Hawaii Care Choices, Homelani Memorial Park and Hawaii County Fire Department. No flowers.
