Tamotsu Muranaka's Obituary
Tamotsu “Tamo” Muranaka, 88, of Keaau, HI, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Pohai Malama. He was born in Paauhau, HI on November 15, 1926. He was a boiler room supervisor for Hamakua Sugar and Hilo Coast Processing, veteran of the US Army during WWII, member of VFW Post 3830, P& R Senior Bowling and Various bowling leagues. Private services were held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Hilo or the VFW Post 3830. He is survived by 2 sons, Lloyd (Bea) Muranaka of Summerville, SC and Paul (Midori) Muranaka of Hilo, HI; 3 daughters, Leelynn “Kaimi” (Paul) Lagat of Keaau, HI, Tammy Muranaka of Kamuela, HI, and Kellcia (Tim Machado) Muranaka of Hilo, HI; 2 hanai daughters, Tracey Yamane of Hilo, HI and Ashley Pacheco of Kamuela, HI; brother, Rodney (Mitsue) Muranaka of Tacoma, WA; 2 sisters, Yaeko (Frank) Nakashima of Sunnyvale, CA and Sumie Arai of Lakewood, CO; companion, Barbara Mitts of Pahoa, HI; sister-in-law, Rose Muranaka of Delaware; 17 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
