Tamara Renee Tricker's Obituary
Tamara Renee’ Tricker passed away on March 10, 2025, at Queen’s North Hawai‘i Community Hospital in Waimea, Hawai‘i. She was 68 years old.
Tamara was born in Northeast Ohio, where she spent her early years and pursued her education. She attended cosmetology school, where she quickly discovered her natural gift and lifelong passion for hairstyling. She especially cherished doing hair alongside her father and her brother, Doug—a shared family craft that brought her great joy. Her creativity and skill made her a standout in her field, and she took great pride in helping others feel their best.
Later in life, Tamara moved to Hawai‘i, where her deep love for animals blossomed into devoted activism. She became a passionate advocate for animal welfare, especially in caring for local feral cat colonies, providing food, medical care, and unconditional love to countless animals in need.
She was the proud mother of one daughter, Krystal Whetzel, and the beloved grandmother of three grandchildren: Kristian Whetzel, Sean Ungaro, Jr., and Sadie Schulz.
Tamara was preceded in death by her mother, Tara Flynn, and her brother, Doug. She is survived by her daughter and grandchildren, and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A private service will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tamara’s honor to the Animal Welfare League, supporting the cause she held so close to her heart.
