Thomas “Tommy” Masao Kina, 76, of Hilo, HI, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Olaa, HI on June 19, 1941. He was a bus driver for Laupahoehoe Trans and Jacks Tours. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 from 8:30 am to 10 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Ponahawai Chapel; a memorial service will take place at 10 am. Urn burial to follow at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2. Family requests aloha attire and no flowers. He is survived by spouse, Janet Kina of Hilo, HI; daughter, Christine Kina of Hilo, HI; son, James Kina of Hilo, HI; sister, Helen Garrett of Watauga, TX; 4 brothers, Alfred (Patsy) Kina of Keaau, HI, George (Mary) Kina of Keaau, HI, Howard Kina of Hilo, HI, and Dee (Lisa) Kina of Keaau, HI; numerous nieces and nephews.
