Timothy James McGirr's Obituary
Timothy James McGirr, age 71, of Milolii, HI, (formerly of Hilo, HI and Grants Pass, OR), died on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 8:15 pm at his residence. Tim was born on April 6, 1953, in Los Angeles, CA, to Paul Leonard and Audrey Elizabeth (Brachman) McGirr. He graduated from Walnut High School, CA and joined the US Army on November 8, 1971, where he served as an Operating Room Specialist in Korea during the Vietnam War. He obtained an A.A. in Nursing after being released from the service and retired as a Registered Nurse with Hawaii Island Interventional Pain Management, Hilo in 2013.
Tim married Kay Severson Boche on March 5, 2000. They traveled to several South Pacific Island nations where he loved to snorkel, swim in the ocean, collect shells, and mix with the local cultures. After retirement, he took up painting, a passion he had as a young man, and created some very beautiful pictures, mostly of the ocean. He had a strong faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Kay McGirr of Milolii; son, Saul (Michelle) of Highlands Ranch, CO; daughter, Raina (Rob) Spooner of Marana, AZ; step-son Alexander (Mikayla) Boche of Detroit Lakes, MN; step-daughter, Sophia (Eric) Kjar of Milnor, ND; brothers Paul, Michael, David, and sisters Susan, Deborah, and June, three step-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Tim was loved and adored by his wife and children. He will be terribly missed.
