Vernal “Big Man” John Veincent, 71, of Hilo, HI, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo, HI on June 8, 1943. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Goodfellow Brothers, a member of the Apostles Motorcycle Club and Operating Engineers Union Local 3, and former member of the Aliis Motorcycle Club. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Puhi Bay (Hawaiian Village) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Family requests casual attire. He is survived by spouse, Marilyn Veincent of Hilo, HI; 5 daughters, Lucille (Terence) Veincent-Salazar of Pahoa, HI; Renee (Wendel Kaiawe) Veincent of Kailua-Kona, HI; Kehau (Pius Taiwerpiy) Veincent of Kahalui, Maui; Shannon (Carlos Claudio) Veincent of Hilo, HI; and Sheron (Nathan) Bee of Hilo, HI; son, Shane Veincent of Hilo, HI; 2 brothers, Manuel (Eunice) Veincent of Kamuela, HI and Joseph (Lorraine) Veincent of Hilo, HI; sister-in-law, Delight Veincent of Hilo, HI; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
