Botelho, Wayne's Obituary
Wayne Botelho, age 78, passed away on July 24, 2024. Born on December 5, 1945, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Wayne later made his home in North Kohala, on the Big Island. A proud veteran, Wayne served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, embodying courage and dedication. Following his service in the military, he worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local 3. Wayne had a deep love for the simple joys of life. He enjoyed raising game fowl, hunting, and most of all, spending quality time with his family. His warmth, strength, and humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Lina, his daughters Stacey (Duncan) Matthey and Eva (widow of the late Brian Grochala) Botelho, his son Jason Botelho, grandchildren Kaipo, Kaina, Kealohi, Maya, and Viviane, as well as three great grandchildren.
