William Newton Case's Obituary
William Newton Case, 91, of Waimea, passed away on August 16, at
Queen’s North Hawaiʻi Community Hospital. Born in North Kohala in 1933
to Mabel Hussey, descended from those of ʻAwini and Niuliʻi, and Leonard
Newton Case, noted Waimea veterinarian. William, known as "Bill" or
“Casey” retired in 1998 from Parker Ranch after 40 years, having last served
as Water Superintendent, he continued to be an integral part of the ranching
and farming community of Waimea and an honorary member of Mauna Kea
Education and Awareness. William was preceded in death by his wife,
Delma (Begas) Case in 2022. He is survived by daughters, Bonnie Pualani
Case (E. Kalani Flores), Bernadine Marie Likolehua Case (Michael Manu),
Brenda Lee Kaulana (Saul) Resendiz Reynoso; son, William Newton
(Susan) Case II all of Waimea, siblings, Richard (Camille) Case, Emmaline
Piʻilani Staskow Fraser, Lloyd (Keomailani) Case, Norman Case;
sister-in-laws, Val Begas (Roy Boro), Tammy Begas, Maureen Begas;
grandchildren, Hāwane Rios, Kapulei Flores, Mariah-Rae Case, Shiadani
Marie Dela Cruz, Heimana Manu; great-grandchildren, Myla-Rose
DeAguiar, Ocean Murtagh; hānai daughter, Alice Fujii; numerous nieces
and nephews.
Visitation 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Mana Christian ʻOhana Hall in
Waimea. Celebration of life for William and Delma Case to follow.
