“Yoshiko Morinaga,108, of Hilo died on July 18 at Life Care Center. Born in Hilo on July 10, 1916, she was a retired seamstress and survivor of 2 pandemics. Survived by daughter Gail and son-in-law Jerry Thompson, 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Family service will be held later. Family request no koden
“She loved knitting, crocheting, sewing, drinking tea, and in her younger years traveling to Las Vegas with friends, or to Texas to visit family. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and ability to make friends everywhere she went. We miss her endless chatter, smile, and joyful laughter. Love you always.”
