I worked with herb on a number of different projects. He was indeed a hard-working,well-rounded carpenter. Those of you who knew him know he had multiple trucks over the years. I was fortunate enough to receive the little black Ford ranger that he called Black beauty, as a partial trade payment for doing some work with him at O'Toole's, replacing the bar top. We'd have to get down there very early in the morning as patrons were leaving from the night before. It was quite the sight. Herb and I got a real kick out of watching people stagger out of the bar at 4:00 in the morning so we could get working. Before that, he gave me Big Red, his flareside Ford for helping him on a project in Hawaii Kai for Emy and her husband. Thanks to Herb I've had transportation for the last 8 years. He was truly an amazing man that was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed by all of us. I have the deepest love and admiration for the man that we called Herby. It gives me comfort knowing that he is in heaven with our Father God and with all of our loved ones that we lost before him. I have faith that I will see him again. Love you, Herb. God bless you and all of you who have had the privilege of knowing him. He may have been small in stature but, he was truly one of Earth's mightiest heros.
