Most of my time with Joy was at the Nani Mau prayer room, pre-pandemic, where we had many times together. We also went to Israel together and had life-changing shared experiences. She always made me laugh. And she always made me wait! ( our inside joke was “just wait, she’ll be here.” ) Joy demonstrated her love for people in her actions. I saw first-hand as she spoke with people of differing beliefs in Israel. She shared how she wished she could be more open about her faith but her ability to listen to others and give them time to express themselves was a divine gift many do not possess. The life in the body is over but her new life in the spirit, free from disease has just begun. Still, i know the void in your heart is real so I extend our condolences and pray for peace. Much Aloha, Christina Kipilii
