Soo Jang Lee, 73, of Hilo, HI, passed away on November 11, 2020 in Hilo. Mr. Lee was born on October 10, 1947 in Seoul, South Korea. He was a life-long martial artist in Tae Kwon Do. Over his lifetime, he had the great honor of be Read Obituary
Master Lee was the owner of the Gym I learned Tae Kwon Do from. He reminded me of Bruce Lee as he was light on his feet and could do a triple kick in one jump. He focused more on the Black belt student as Terri Kondo was my Sensei. Through this, I met my husband and now married 28 yrs.

I knew Master Lee back in the late 70s and early 80s. I was introduced to him by a guy named Herman Huffsnider. Soo had fast hands and feet and could do acrobatic moves. I used to watch his hands and feet and it would remind me of the cartoon character George of the jungles. Thick feet and hands. He practice punching a wooden board with rope wrapped around it.
One time a guy had electrical problems with his automobile and Soo looked at it a few minutes then solved it very quickly.

To The Families of the Late Soo Jang Lee. My deepest condolences to the Family especially to Jade, Justin and Soo Lee Hahn whom I have had the pleasure of meeting as well as niece Sophie and nephew Kenny. Master Lee taught me the art of Tae Kwon Do which I attained a Brown/Black stripe belt back in the late 80's. Master Lee has not only taught me the art, he has also taught me discipline, patience, being humble, to work hard and gave me a lifetime membership to his club in Hilo "Lee Tae Kwon Do". At that time Master Lee's english were limited, so all the counting and movements in Tae Kwon Do were spoken in Korean, when I helped teach the class, I spoke only in Korean.
