Soo Jang Lee's Obituary
Soo Jang Lee, 73, of Hilo, HI, passed away on November 11, 2020 in Hilo. Mr. Lee was born on October 10, 1947 in Seoul, South Korea. He was a life-long martial artist in Tae Kwon Do. Over his lifetime, he had the great honor of being a head Tae Kwon Do instructor for the Korean Army, until he moved to Hawaii in 1973, where he continued to teach many Hilo residents. In 1988, he also helped coach the U.S. Olympic Tae Kwon Do team in the sport’s debut at the 1988 Seoul games. He was so thankful for his many students over the years. He learned as much from them, as they learned from him.

He is survived by his two brothers, Soo Kwang Lee of California and Soo Wan Lee of California; two sisters, Soo Lee Hahn of Oregon and Baker Lee of Texas; and two sons, Justin Lee of Hilo and Jade Lee of Hilo.
